Dear Members of Yes We Can Inwood,

Thank you so much for sending us your books. With your help we were able to establish a reading program for the victims of the flood and also in another nearby poor community -- Kaingin 1, Bgy. Pansol, Quezon City, Philippines. So far, 60 kids have been pre-tested and 40 have qualified for the program (meaning those who scored lowest, and thus have the greatest need for it).

We have also trained the volunteer teachers, who are women in the community who passionately believe in the value of education. The 6 month program shall start on April 12. For the other 20 children who did not qualify, there will be storytelling hour for them everyday at the chapel which shall house the library.
